Dear Lambrick family,
This week marks my eighth week on the ground as your Executive Pastor, working together with Scott and the staff team, and alongside all of you, as we live out the kingdom of God each day together. The first two months have been infused with so much kindness and generosity of spirit from so many of you – Brad and I have been blessed beyond measure by the warm welcome. It has also been full of conversations and time for observing, as I immerse myself in the life of our church and get to know as much about the inner workings as I can.
Much of those inner workings have to do with finances. February 28, 2026, marked the halfway point in our fiscal year, which runs from September 1 to August 31 and so the time is right to update you, our church family, on the state of our finances. Our church is sustained by the faithful and generous contributions of many who call Lambrick home. And, while the gospel on its own does not require money to be spread, your financial gifts do offer us unique opportunities to embrace and invite others to follow Jesus with us.
At the halfway point of this fiscal year, we have received about 95% of our forecasted giving and about 96% of forecasted total revenue. We have not had to reduce or limit any planned spending at this point, however that is always a real possibility if we remain below budget. The following image shows Lambrick’s actuals (blue bar) as the portion of what was budgeted (green bar):
For those who love to see the numbers, the following table summarizes our revenues and expenses. We do have a small overall surplus of almost $14,000, once we take Wiseways into account:
Income Statement (Feb 28, 2026)
It must be noted that our giving is typically ‘front-loaded’ in the fiscal year – November and December are historically higher revenue months for most churches as we come to the end of the calendar year, and people are making larger gifts to charitable organizations. We ask us all to be mindful of this as we go into the second half of our fiscal year, as we move into the warmer months, perhaps do some travelling, students return ‘home’ for the summer, etc. Our surplus at this point is not enough to sustain us through the next 6 months of what is traditionally lower revenue months.
If the idea of supporting a church financially is a new one for you, or if you are simply new to our community and have not yet found your way to engaging in that part of our life together, know that you are not alone! Our life as the body of Christ is not a solitary one, and we invite you to prayerfully consider how the Lord might be leading you in stewarding the resources he has provided. To those whose tithes and offerings are reflected in the numbers above, we say a heartfelt and sincere THANK-YOU! Because of your gifts we continue to see lives transformed and people engaging in everyday mission, all for God’s glory.
It is such a joy to be partnered with you!
