Territorial Acknowledgement
We acknowledge the traditional territory upon which we gather. While we believe that God created the land we live on, we were not the first to live here, though our actions have too often suggested otherwise. We recognize that the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lkwungen) peoples, represented by the Wyomilth (Esquimalt) and lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees) Nations, and the W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) peoples, represented by the W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱ (Tsawout), W̱SIḴEM (Tseycum) and MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat) Nations, were stewards of this land before us, and we seek a new relationship with them, one based in honor and deep respect.
