Today we pray for one of our international missions partners: International Justice Missions (IJM) and their program in South Asia to combat forced labor slavery. They rescue victims, partner with agencies to bring criminals to justice, restore survivors, and work to strengthen justice systems.

Here is a praise report and some prayer requests from them.

PRAISE: In February, authorities rescued 34 boys from exploitation in a clay pottery business. The boys worked for 12 hours each day under harsh conditions, and some had been there for up to six years. After IJM shared reports of abuse at the pottery unit, local authorities conducted an operation to bring them to safety. The follow up efforts are focused on arresting the people responsible, as well as obtaining Release Certificates for the boys, which will eliminate the false debts that trapped their families.

PRAY: IJM ran a radio campaign to educate migrant workers and rural communities about bonded labour. The campaign expanded the awareness of bonded labour, reaching communities and populations that are often missed. Pray that the awareness raised will help counter false assumptions and increase public understanding of the issue. Please pray also for more opportunities to tell compelling stories of survivors, highlighting areas where the justice system has worked effectively to bring justice and protection.
