Treat Street is back!

On Halloween this year, you are invited to Lambrick Park Church, where your little ones can show off their costumes and collect way too much candy!

This year, the candy-collecting loop will be around the outside of the church building, our candy-giving team will send their candy down 2m long shoots for your kids to catch at the bottom (keeping it contactless) and the incredible Donald Dunphy will be creating amazement and wonder with magic shows in our Sanctuary.

For the first time this year, we will also be running a sensory-friendly hour of Treat Street between 3 and 3:45PM, for families who would appreciate a quieter experience. Note: this hour of Treat Street does not include a magic show

Due to provincial restrictions, pre-registration is mandatory

If you would like to volunteer at Treat Street...

There are three different roles that we need volunteers for - have a think about which role you would enjoy the most:

1) Give out Candy - The stars of the show! For this role, we ask you to bring with you a 2m long slide of some kind (this could be made out of poster board, paper...any material is fine!) - feel free to let your creative self shine and make your slide fit with your costume (anyone coming as a bunny? your slide could be a giant carrot!). We'll be able to reimburse your craft supplies up to $10, so make sure you keep any receipts.

You should be available for some or all of the time between 2:30 and 8:30PM. If you come for the whole time, you'll have at least 2 hours of break time, and we'll provide you with dinner (on top of candy of course). Your costume should be warm, because you'll be in an external doorway, and should enable you to wear some kind of nose and mouth covering.

2) Be a Support Steward - The friendly face of welcome! For this role, you will be checking guests in, directing anyone to the washroom if they need it, generally answering questions and being hospitable and welcoming.

You should be available for some or all of the time between 2:30 and 8:30PM. If you come for the whole time, you'll have at least 3 breaks of 30 minutes, and we'll provide you with dinner (on top of candy of course). Your costume should be warm, because you'll be outside lots, and should enable you to wear some kind of nose and mouth covering.

3) Be on the Magic Show Team - Literally making the magic happen! Donald Dunphy will be performing two magic shows in the Sanctuary over the course of the event. The Magic Show team will help guests to their physically distant seats and will direct them to the candy once the show has ended. For this role you should be available from 4-8PM - you will have at least 30 minutes of break time and we will provide you with dinner. You will also get to watch both magic shows! You will be inside for most of the night, but please make sure that your costume allows you to wear some kind of nose and mouth covering.

Are you able to donate candy?

Candy donations can be dropped off at the office during opening hours (Monday and Wednesday, 10AM-12:30PM). If you would like to donate, but can't make it to the office, drop us a line below and we'll work something out!
