This week our Missions prayer is for Lambrick's English Language Learners Ministry.

This fall, ELL has started with a bang! Build it and He will come! We stepped out in faith to restart an in-person class on Monday mornings and God has been leading students to this class! Each week, there are about 8-10 students attending. We have new and returning students from Korea, China, Mexico, Brazil, Kazakhstan, and most recently, from Afghanistan. Most of the students are brand new to learning English or continuing to build on their basic English speaking skills.

Another class is held on Tuesday afternoon via Zoom. Again, we have seen God at work leading people who are finding information about our ELL classes from Google searches. There are a few returning students but most of the students are new - Zooming in from all parts of the world: Brazil, Peru, China, Winnipeg and Victoria! There are about 10 people attending this class.

We resumed the Thursday Bible Study via Zoom and in-person monthly.  There are 5 participants.  We are studying the book of Matthew together.

Praise God:

  • for leading each student to our in-person and Zoom classes
  • for the high level of engagement in all of the classes - students are keen to learn, and are sharing, participating, and helping one another in the classes.

 Please Pray:

For the students

  • To feel safe and comfortable to practice speaking English
  • To get to know the teachers and one another
  • Some have come wanting to know more about Jesus. May the Spirit draw them in to reveal truth to them as we study Matthew and read other Bible stories together
  • Some students are believers. Pray the Spirit to guide them into deeper faith - to trust in God for all things.

For the teachers

  • For creativity to meet the diverse needs and skill level of students
  • To continue to develop meaningful relationships with the students
  • For wisdom, guidance, and creativity as they plan lessons each week
  • We need another one or two people to help out occasionally at our Monday morning class
  • For another person to co-lead the Tuesday Zoom group
  • For the health and safety of our Monday group over the next few months of cold and flu season so we can continue to meet in-person.
