This week we pray for our local missions partner Sanctuary Youth Centre.  Based in the basement of Church of Our Lord in downtown Victoria they serve as a safe place for some of the most vulnerable people in our city - street entrenched and at-risk youth between the ages of 14 and 22.

We join them in praying for a couple of specific youth they are connecting with:

  • Isla is currently experiencing homelessness, struggling with drug addiction and facing episodes of psychosis. Please pray that Isla finds the support and care she needs. We also ask for prayers for ourselves: that we wil be able to respond to her needs with grace and discernment.
  • Justin has ongoing struggles with suicidal thoughts and frequent reports of attempts. Please join us in praying that the right support systems will be able to reach Justin and walk with him toward healing and recovery.

We also pray for our Annual  fundraiser – the Ride for Refuge event.which will be held in October - especially for guidance in securing the right location.  Above all, our prayer is that God would be glorified in every aspect of the Ride for Refuge.

On a Praise Note -  At the end of May, we experienced a potentially dangerous incident with a fire in one of our large garbage bins. We are especially thankful that painters working on the building were able to help contain the flames until the Victoria Fire Department arrived. We truly thank God for His safekeeping and the people He placed in the right place at the right time.

*** As always, we have used code names to protect the privacy and identities of our youth.
