An accessible, tangible tool to begin cultivating a listening life through scripture.

The Shema: the invitation of God to listen and hear God –to know God and to love God in response – with the whole of our lives – together. Think of this resource and the whole Shema Project as an invitation to cultivate a listening life – personally and together.

Available for download below is The Shema Project Guide - which includes a Bible reading plan, but crucially, walks through the development of a daily practice of meditation on Scripture and listening to God.

Parts of the plan call for individual study and reflection, but other parts pose the challenge to reflect on Scripture and listen to God in community with others. We hope that this will be a great resource for established small groups or friendship groups to do together.

This resource flows out of Lambrick’s fall 2020 study on “Hearing God’s Voice” + fall 2026 study on “How to Read the Bible” – series which you can revisit on our livestream page. The Shema Project is an opportunity to cultivate the habit of regularly listening to God in Scripture. It will lead you through a basic overview of the biblical narrative: from the God of creation, to humanity’s fall into sin, through the story of Israel, to the coming of Jesus the Messiah, and the birth of the church.
