Lambrick and the Mission of God

As Christians, we are all called to participate in God's redemptive work in the world.  This call leads us to engage our prayers and lives, personally and together, in everyday evangelism, compassion, social action, and justice.  As John Stott, the late bible teacher and champion of God's heart for justice, once said,

“We must be global Christians with a global vision because our God is a global God.”

‘As we go’ in His world (Matt 28), we act together locally and partner with others globally.

In Our Neighbourhood

We believe that where we are matters.  It was God’s deliberate plan to place us in Gordon Head and Victoria.  Our task then is to discern what it is to be His ambassadors and servants right here today.

Wiseways Preschool and Daycare loves and serves local families in our neighborhood every weekday. Our Youth ministry builds relationships with local teens through mid-week groups, school ministry and camps at Imadene. The English Language Learners (ELL) groups seek to impact the lives of visitors and first-generation immigrants with the love and message of Jesus. We also support the work of Victoria Pregnancy Centre.

In Victoria

Since 2007, our major local partnership has been with the Mustard Seed. Each month we get to show love and respect to those on the fringe, by cooking and serving the Agape Meal - sign up below. Every year we participate in events and fundraisers throughout the year.

In Ethiopia

We are partnered with Food for the Hungry (FH) in a development project in the Sasiga area of Ethiopia.  FH works with churches, leaders and families to better health, supply clean water, create agricultural and economic options, provide education for all, empower women, care for a fragile environment and aim for sustainability after a decade. Between 110 sponsored children and direct giving, we provide $70,000 of support per year. In 2017 the region graduated and we were there to celebrate with them. Excitingly we are continuing support as the team relocates 30km and starts to bring hope to a further 25,000 people in the 'Mid-Highlands' area.

In India

Our partnership with International Justice Mission, Mahima Homes (through Partners International) and freedom businesses in Kolkata has rescued trafficked and enslaved women and children, cared for and re-skilled them, brought perpetrators to justice and fought for systemic change.  We see $15,000 annually from our budget go to this work and we will be building a vision team to visit the ongoing work in the region.

In the world

In addition we support our church family members wherever God takes them, especially if there is financial implications to their calling:

  • Brent & Shelley Weeks (SonSet Solutions, Australia)
  • Sue Priestley (Operation Mobilization, Canada)
  • Deb Morris (Retired from Interserve, Canada)
  • Kelly Johnson-Gahaya & Celo Gahaya (Lighthouse Training and Counselling Centre, Rwanda)
  • Clayton Dougan (Evangelism International)
  • Aimee A (IVCF, Asia)
  • Jenn Taylor (ABWE Canada, Chile)
  • Daniel & Sandi Mcdougall (ISMC, University of Victoria)

These people and projects, alongside many others that have connected with Lambrick over the years are faithfully prayed for weekly at Prayerwerks.
